You’re doing the most important work there is.
You were never meant to do it alone.

Most parenting advice treats ordinary infant behaviour as a problem to be solved, then leaves the mother holding the blame when the solution doesn't work. We teach a different model — grounded in developmental science, attachment theory, and genuine regard for the woman doing the mothering.

Here, we start somewhere else

The waking. The feeding. The wanting to be held, always, by you specifically. None of it is a fault to be corrected. It's a small human doing exactly what small humans do, in a world that has decided this is inconvenient and sold you the fix.

So we don't start with what's wrong with your baby, or with you. We start with what's normal, what's actually happening, and what you already know.

Five things we hold to

Nothing has gone wrong. Your baby waking at night isn't a problem you've failed to fix. It's a baby.

01

It was never just you. You're not bad at this. You've been handed a version of motherhood that nobody could actually do.

02

You're in the picture too. How you're going matters as much as how they're sleeping. Not afterwards. Now.

03

The relationship is the point. The goal was never a baby who sleeps through. It's the two of you, knowing each other.

04

We start with you, not the plan. No plan fits every family. When the advice and your instincts disagree, we begin with your instincts.

05

Social worker, motherhood studies practitioner, infant sleep educator — and a mother who went looking for this and couldn't find it, so built it instead.

I've spent years with mothers at the exact point where the advice runs out. And years more with the practitioners who were handed the same thin script I was, and told to deliver it with a straight face.

Mama Matters started as the soft landing I wished I'd had. It's become a body of work, a training program, and a slowly growing number of people doing this differently.
